Frequently asked questions
Domain registration is the process of reserving a unique name (like yourbrand.com) on the internet for a specific period, usually 1 year or more. When you register a domain with DignityHost, it is associated with your contact details and managed from your account.
Use our domain search to find an available name, choose your preferred extension (.com, .net, .org, .bd, etc.), add it to your cart, and complete checkout. Once payment is confirmed, your domain is registered and ready to be connected to your website or hosting.
You will need basic contact details such as your name or organization name, address, phone number, and email. This information is used as the official registrant data with the domain registry and is required by ICANN and registry policies.
Most domains can be registered for 1–10 years at a time, depending on the TLD. You can choose your registration period during checkout, and you can always extend it later by renewing before it expires.
The registration price is what you pay for the first term when you initially buy the domain. The renewal price is what you pay to keep the domain for additional years. In some cases, promotional first-year pricing may be lower than standard renewal pricing.
Yes. For supported TLDs, we offer WHOIS/domain privacy to mask your personal contact details in the public WHOIS database. This helps reduce spam and protects your identity while still keeping you as the legal owner of the domain.
Before your domain expires, we send multiple renewal reminders to your registered email. If you miss the renewal, the domain usually enters a grace period where you may still be able to renew it. After that, it may go into redemption or be released back to the public for anyone to register.
Yes. After the initial 60‑day ICANN lock period (for most generic TLDs), you can transfer your domain to another registrar if you choose. You will need to unlock the domain and request an auth/EPP code from your DignityHost account before starting the transfer elsewhere.
